Kampung Alablanas is just a 5-hour road trip from Kota Kinabalu, the capital of Sabah State, Malaysia’s most eastern State also popularly known as the “land below the wind”. The sleepy village is next to Keningau district and possesses a breathe-taking view of the beautiful Crocker mountain range. The journey to the village takes us from the main trunk road onto a one and a half hour break breaking ride over rocky dirt roads. The terrain is quite challenging even for four wheel drive vehicles. It seems when it rains this main access to the village in totally inaccessible because for safety reasons. The villagers have been requesting for a proper access road for the past 10 years and finally road tarring works had actually started only about 3 months ago.
